Check what your browser extensions can read

The browser holds your email, invoices, and customer portals. An extension installed for one small job may still have permission to read or change data on sites you visit. The useful question is not just whether you recognize its icon. It is whether it still needs that access.

Open the browser’s extension manager. Remove tools you no longer use. For the ones you keep, review the publisher and requested permissions. Where the browser allows it, limit site access to the sites that need the feature rather than every page.

Try the tool on a non-sensitive page after changing its settings. Some features will stop working with narrower permissions; decide whether that feature is worth the access instead of restoring everything automatically. On a work device, follow your organization’s approved software process.

Make this part of an occasional browser cleanup. A tool that saved five minutes last winter should not keep broad access indefinitely just because you forgot it was there.
