Default to the strict setting

The new family account bills in Congress want the safest settings on by default for anyone under thirteen. That is the right instinct even if the bill never becomes law.

On every homework bot, voice speaker, and video app, turn on the strictest filter first. Then loosen only what you chose to loosen. Most families do the reverse. They accept the vendor default and hope.

Check whether the tool stores chats, uses them for training, or lets the child talk with no time limit. If you cannot find those switches in two minutes, the product is not built for a family. Use something else.

Parents do not need another dashboard. They need the dangerous options off until someone who loves the child turns them on.
