Let the assistant draft before it acts
An assistant that drafts a customer reply can save time. Giving it permission to send that reply, change the customer record, and delete the original message is a much bigger decision. Start with the smallest useful job.
For a new workflow, let the assistant suggest an answer from a limited set of approved material. Have a person review the facts, recipient, and wording before sending. Do not connect the whole business just because the setup screen offers the option.
If the workflow later needs actions, add them one at a time. Prefer a dedicated account with narrowly scoped permissions, meaningful approval prompts, and a record of what happened. Know where to disconnect the integration if it behaves unexpectedly. Read-only access still exposes information, so choose the source material carefully.
This is a way to learn what the tool can reliably do. A few saved clicks are useful only if the person responsible can still understand and control the work. Earn broader access through observed results rather than an impressive demonstration.
