The camera you forgot

Cloud cameras keep working after you stop thinking about them. The app is still signed in. The video still goes to a vendor you picked two years ago. The email on the account may be one you no longer use.

Open the app. Confirm the account email is yours and that you can still get into it. Turn on two factor. Walk the house and match each live feed to a camera you still want. Delete the rest from the account, not just from the wall.

Pay attention to who else has access. A spouse, a cleaner, last year’s contractor, a grown child who moved out. Share links linger. If you cannot name every person who can see the nursery or the driveway, revoke the shares and add back only the people who need them.

Cameras are useful. An account you cannot control is not a camera. It is a window you left open.
